Engineering Pathways Project

An Evidence-Based Approach

Engineering Pathways Project

Beyond School Bells is excited to offer support for the creation of engineering learning pathways in afterschool and summer expanded learning opportunities (ELO) programs across rural Nebraska.

The project is structured around building interconnected elementary and middle school engineering club experiences led by high school students (and remotely supported by college students) into multi-year learning pathways.

Project Goals Include:

  • Raising awareness about the relevance of engineering for rural NE communities.
  • Increasing awareness about engineering educational and career path opportunities available to students across the state, such as PKF Academy Engineering Scholarships.
  • Support rural programs connecting with assets in their communities including across K-12, community colleges, local business and industry to increase awareness of important role ELOs play helping students explore career options and build STEM identity.
  • Increasing access to engineering for rural students, girls, and underserved students.

No prior engineering experience is required for students or staff!
