Young Professionals Leadership Camp

FINAL DAY TO REGISTER is Friday, August 1

New Details: The Young Professionals Leadership Camp has been moved to Lincoln, NE, and will now be a 1½-day, non-overnight leadership experience. Hosted at UNL’s East Campus Union on August 7–8, 2025, this hands-on experience is designed for high school and college-aged staff, along with their adult supporters (Site Leaders/Program Directors)  working in afterschool programs. The camp focuses on leadership development, team building, and fun.

Thursday's workshops will be lead by Disciplines for Leadership in Communities: https://www.d4lc.com/

Goals:

  • Foster team bonding to strengthen connections and set a positive foundation for the upcoming school year.
  • Equip participants with the support and resources needed to be effective and confident staff members.
  • Create a fun and engaging experience that encourages leadership growth for both participants and adult supporters.

Adult Supporter responsibilities:

  • Young people (under 19) need to be accompanied by at least 1 adult, preferably a program director or site coordinator, or another afterschool adult staff member, for the entire duration of the camp.  They will be responsible for supervision of all the young people they bring.
  • Fully engage in the leadership camp by participating in workshops and activities and will even receive a stipend after the camp.
  • Transport their young people to/from the camp.

Beyond School Bells will pay for meals, activities, and parking passes for all participants while at the Young Professional's Leadership Camp.

Afterschool programs will be responsible for any other costs associated with attending this experience such as transportation and staff compensation.  These costs should be determined by each program or school district.
