Nebraska After 3PM report (2025)
Four in five Nebraska parents who want afterschool programs for their children are unable to enroll them, in many cases because programs are too expensive, unavailable, or inaccessible, according to a household survey commissioned by the Afterschool Alliance in October 2025. America After 3PM finds that 91% of Nebraska parents with a child in an afterschool program rate it as excellent or very good, and there is overwhelming support among Nebraska parents for public funding for these programs.
Beyond School Bells Annual Reports
Since 2022, Beyond School Bells (BSB) has published annual reports showcasing our biggest projects. These reports highlight the exciting work happening in afterschool and summer programs across Nebraska—made possible through BSB’s partnerships with committed schools, organizations, and community supporters.
Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Reports
In May 2021, the State Board of Education approved $11 million for ESSER III summer and expanded learning programs. The Nebraska Department of Education managed the funds, while BSB handled grant administration. These programs ran from summer 2022 through September 2024.
21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC)
Nebraska's 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023. The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE), which administers the state’s 21st CCLC program, highlighted the work done for and with Nebraska’s youth and families and the dedicated individuals who have given their time and passion to create expanded learning opportunities throughout the state.
