New research shows that afterschool and summer programs are an effective part of the STEM solution.
STEM and Expanded Learning Opportunities
"How to Speak STEM-ish" is an excellent resource from the Afterschool STEM Hub, a group led by the Afterschool Alliance and including representatives from youth-serving organizations, research groups and professional associations. Developed by the Frameworks Institute, the resource guide offers ready-to-go communications and advocacy materials, including infographics, fact sheets, powerpoint slides, an animated explainer video, and more.
Digging Deeper into STEM and ELOs
This series of “What’s STEM Got To Do With It?” posters explores the STEM concepts at the Nebraska State Fair. The STEM posters highlight the STEM behind many of the fair's most popular and common activities. These posters are an excellent resource to utilize in your ELO program and activities to illustrate how "STEM is everywhere" throughout Nebraska and our world.
