Max Cuppens, Americorps VISTA STEM Innovator
Max Cuppens was brought on to Beyond School Bells as an AmeriCrops Vista STEM Innovator at the beginning of 2017.
After attending Art Center College of Design (Product Design) in Pasadena, California, Max was asked by Beyond School Bells to design and build the interior trailer space of their first mobile maker lab for rural afterschool programs. Max found himself captivated by this inspiring and meaningful work for Nebraska’s highest need youth and couldn’t step away.
Max’s skill set includes visual problem solving and communicating, graphic design, and 3-D prototyping.
Having spent a large amount of time in Lincoln’s low-income neighborhoods coaching tennis in afterschool programs, he understands the need for more high quality, expanded learning opportunities and is driven to make a difference.
